Moeke Yarns - Elena Singles
Moeke Yarns are beautifully rustic and very well suited for accessories like mittens and hats as well as for hard-wearing garments such as sweaters. The yarns are minimally processed and no harsh chemicals are used in the production - as a result there may be some vegetal matter and lanolin in the yarn - which frankly we love! On washing and blocking the yarn will soften somewhat and bloom, but still hold its rusticity.
Farm to Cable Yarns currently carries Moeke's Elena single ply, made from 100% half-bred Tigaie wool, in brown and grey. The brown is a dark chocolately brown while the grey is a fairly warm grey, more akin to a "griege" or taupe.
Due to the technology of the traditional fibre mills where the wool is spun, Moeke Yarns are not processed in standard skein weights and the weights of each skein may vary several grams (up or down). The weights and yardages shown below are approximate.
The yarn label will indicate the fibre mill, the production year in which the yarn was spun and the batch number - as a result it is best to buy enough skeins for your project, as there may be slight variances in shades between batches/years. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us prior to placing your order.
