The Yarn
Mondim, from Retrosaria, is a non-superwash all natural sock weight yarn (3 ply) made from fine Portuguese wool. It is named after a Portuguese village once famous for its sock knitting cottage industry.
Retrosaria (Portuguese for haberdashery) is a Portugese knitting shop and yarn business committed to developing minimally processed yarns from the wool of native Portuguese sheep breeds. The online shop was started by Rosa Pomar in January 2008 and at the end of 2009 a bricks and mortar shop was opened in the heart of Lisbon.

Fibre 100% fine portuguese wool
Amount: 100g skein
Yardage: 385 meters (421 yards)
Rec. needle size: 2-3mm (1-2 1/5 US)
Gauge: 28-32 sts x 42-49 rows =10 x 10cm (4 x 4 inches)
Care: Hand wash.
