Sotabosc Shawl Kits (52 Weeks of Shawls/Vovó)
Published in 52 Weeks of Shawls, Sotabosc is a triangular shawl designed by Elena Solier Jansà that plays with dancing twisted cables. The shawl starts at the narrow point is knitted sideways. The pattern is worked in reverse stockinette stitch with neat i-cord edges. Elena was inspired by fallen beech leaves in the autumn (Sotabosc is a Catalan word that refers to undergrowth on a forest floor). The shawl might look complex but, with both a simple construction and an easy-to-memorise pattern repeat, it is also suitable for an adventurous beginner.
Sotabosc is knit using Vovó by Rosa Pomar (100% fine Portuguese wool, 156 yds / 143 m – 50 g), colourway 10. The shawl kit comes in two sizes:
Size 1 - 5 skeins of Vovó
Size 2 - 7 skeins of Vovó
You can purchase the kit on its own (yarn only, pattern not included.) or with 52 Weeks of Shawls.
