Isle Yarns - The Story

We are particularly fond of the tag-line that greets visitors to Isle Yarn’s website: “From farm to needles with authenticity and our own unique story”.  Isle Yarns come from Sue Hole's family farm on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset, U.K.  There they have a mixed farm of sheep, pigs, cattle and arable land, covering 2 generations.

The farm has a commercial flock of 1400 north country mules and Dorset crosses as well as a small flock of pedigree Poll Dorsets which are kept to produce the farm's breeding rams.  The first yarns were produced in 2015.  The yarns are produced in small batches (both worsted and woollen spun) and in a palette of colours to reflect the stunning Purbeck landscape.
